There are a ton of people making money by promoting Amazon products on their blogs, social profiles and review sites. The Amazon Associates program is one of the most popular and successful affiliate marketing programs ever. There are thousands of people who make a full time income from their Amazon affiliate marketing businesses.
For those people who are still trying to boost their supplemental or passive income but haven’t yet reached their goals, it’s always nice to hear a success story and find a little inspiration. So, in no particular order, here are five of the most successful Amazon Associates that we know of:
Chris Guthrie
Chris’ life goal at the moment is to buy a castle. How cool is that? He wants to have enough money in 20 years to buy the Guthrie Castle, which is located in Scotland and is no longer owned by the Guthrie family. His more immediate goal of making 1 million dollars before he turns 30 years old is a step in the right direction. Chris started his career testing video games for Microsoft. He got to work on Halo 2 and ended up started a website to share gameplay videos and tips with fellow gamers. It was after putting ads on this site that he realized the power and potential of internet marketing.
He built his passive income stream up to 5k a month before quitting his full time job to pursue internet marketing full time. Although he has established multiple income streams, Amazon commissions have been and still are his primary earnings each month. He outsources web design, coding and other technical work and focuses on creating great content, SEO, conversion and monetization.

Wanda & Paula
Wanda and Paula are the dynamic duo of the Amazon marketing world. They have a whole family of web properties that are currently earning them a healthy full time income, and they are the geniuses behind the Amazonian Profit Plan, one of the most popular and effective courses for anyone who is ready to learn how to make money as an Amazon Associate. These women focus on quality reviews above everything else and stress the fact that Amazon Associates don’t need hundreds of reviews sites to make a lot of money. Instead, you should put your energy into optimizing and promoting the most successful pages of your most successful sites.
Wanda and Paula are constantly updating their own personal website, Affiliate Blog Online, one of the best resources for all types of affiliate marketing professionals, especially those who promote products on Amazon.com. Be sure to check out their website for great tips and detailed articles on article writing, link building, SEO and more.
Jan Roos
Jan Roos is the mastermind behind The Physical Affiliate, one of the best “get started” courses on Amazon affiliate marketing. He always teaches from personal experience and has a very laid back, hands on, practical style. His approach to Amazon marketing is simple: do great research, build simple sites, rinse and repeat. He also stresses the importance of multiple traffic sources and has recently gotten into using Microsoft adCenter for PPC traffic. He has established himself as an expert and is well respected in the IM universe and places like the Warrior Forum.
Jan isn’t much of a writer (Isn’t it nice to know that you can be successful with internet marketing even if you hate writing?), so when he posts anything on his website or sends an email to his subscribers, it’s usually short and sweet. You can check out his internet training website here. He is definitely someone to keep an eye on.
Darren Rowse
Founder of the popular blog ProBlogger.net, Darren Rowse is somewhat of a legend in the internet marketing world. He is a speaker, consultant, blogger, photographer and site builder who has earned hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Amazon Associates program. He’s got a great post from 2009 about what he’s learned over several years as an Amazon affiliate that you can read right here. Even though strategies and best practices are constantly changing in the world of internet marketing, most of his advice still holds true today.
Darren contributes to a bunch of different blogs, some of which he started and some that he writes guest posts for. He has a handful of sites that pull in 10-20k each month by themselves. This is attributed to the great content that attracts tens of thousands of visitors every month. Rowse is a text book example of how people can make money blogging and how you can use Amazon to monetize your websites and diversify your income streams.
Dan Brock
Dan Brock is better known by his self-imposed nicknames, the “Lazy Affiliate” or the “Deadbeat Affiliate”. Like some other savvy marketers, he has created a personal brand around his strategy of internet marketing and personality, and he leverages this to sell his own teaching courses and build his mailing list.
Dan created one of the first and most popular “make money with Amazon” courses called The Deadbeat Super Affiliate, in which he lays out his strategy for making physical product review sites that point people to Amazon for actual purchasing. Like all other successful Associates, he stresses the importance of high quality, unique content above all else, and he gives detailed instructions for constructing your review pages (including images, star ratings, sections, titles, etc.). Dan Brock doesn’t blog too much, and he hasn’t been sending anything to his mailing list lately, so he may be laying low and working on his next product release. You can stay up to date on his activities by clicking here.
Conclusion
These five super affiliates are making a killing off the Amazon Associates program every month. They have cracked the code and developed their own unique styles and techniques that put them on top of the IM game. Of course, these are the marketers who choose to put themselves out there in spotlight. There are probably a bunch of people making more than these guys who prefer to remain out of the public eye, which is understandable. Either way, I hope this post gives you some motivation to work harder and keep at it until you see some results!

Brock, I follow these guys. Do you have all their training? Which one is the best in your opinion?
I’m looking into more advanced tips and tricks for Amazon Affiliates. Thanks!
The only training that I’ve really followed closely is Jan Roos’ courses. That’s how I got my start in Amazon and how I really started making money online. I highly recommend Jan’s Courses, which I review here.
